A tepid critique notes Masterminds promises intrigue but collapses into chase scenes and overused tropes. Patrick Stewart entertains as the villain while Brenda Fricker underplays. The hacker subplot nods to Great Expectations, but the overall film stalls amid plot gaps and character misfires.
