Federal election commission sues fund-raising group
The Federal Election Commission filed suit in Washington accusing the National Republican Senatorial Committee of raising nearly 2.7 million dollars for 12 Republican Senate candidates through bundling letters signed by Vice President George Bush. The agency says funds were reported as individual donations, not party money. The NRSC plans to contest, noting a civil penalty already paid.
