Murder Indictments in Boston Suburb Motel Brawl
A Suffolk County grand jury indicted four police officers for murder and four for lesser crimes in a fatal July 23 motel brawl at King Arthur's Motel and Lounge Chelsea near Everett. Eight civilians and four officers were injured. Joseph Bordonaro, 54, of Everett died days after the fight.

Wedding brawlers face one day jail terms in Pittsburgh
In Brookline, a Friday wedding reception erupted into a brawl as 100 to 150 people fought. Magistrate Donald Turner gave one day jail sentences to 15 defendants for disorderly conduct, with four postponements and a 16 year old released to parents. Most defendants were in their 20s.

Police neckers nab robbers in lovers lane sting
New York police Timothy Kelly and Paul Moore posed as a couple in a dark lovers lane to catch a trio of robbers. A woman driver surrendered a gun and two suspects Jill McCormack, 19, and James Rain, 37, were arrested on attempted murder, robbery and weapons charges.

Stepfather Convicted in Toddler Murder Case
In San Diego a jury found 26 year old Paul Pitts guilty of first degree murder and felony child abuse in the death of his 2-year-old stepson Jared Cartwright who was left nude in a toybox with a hair dryer on high heat and duct tape gag. He faces 25 years to life and will be sentenced October 12 in El Cajon.
