Storms Leave Central New York in Darkness and Damage
Overnight wind and rain sliced through Central New York with outages affecting about 11,200 customers in Water town, Syracuse, and Utica suburbs. The National Weather Service warned storms would continue into the evening, with gusts around 40 mph at Syracuse Airport and thunderstorm activity expected to redevelop later. NiMo officials said outages were being repaired, but some customers remained without power as crews brace for further issues.
