A University Heights dog camp plans a student veteran families meeting to impose an obey or else dog rules list after complaints about rising dog populations. About 30 dogs and their owners are affected. Concluded on page 9.
Twenty homeless men and women including a few with babies overpowered a British Army guard and occupied ten vacant huts at a German prisoner camp near Hereford on a Wednesday night.

A vast cool air mass has moved into Syracuse with temperatures in the 40s and 50s for the Great Lakes region. The low is about 50 degrees tonight and Friday remains cool despite sunshine. Northeasterly winds persist with a southeast shift later in the week bringing warmer, moister air and possible showers.

He believes U S prestige hinges on bringing Yugoslavia to heel, even at the cost of the conference. Foreign Ministers Molotov and Kardelj conferred about the issue for 40 minutes as the talks continued.
OPA raises coal and orange prices while restoring meat ceilings near June 30 figures. Porter announced seven cent per hundred pounds flour hike to offset higher parity wheat. Campaign against black markets backs the price moves as ceilings reappear.
FRANKFURT INS reports Capt. Kathleen Nash Durant faces a military court for allegedly stealing jewels valued at 1.5 million dollars from Kronberg Castle basement crypt. Her husband Col. Jack W Durant, implicated in the case, was not brought into today’s proceedings.

The U.S. Army announced that a Russian secret police agent, Lena Herz Krupenko, spent nearly a year spying in the American zone. She posed as a German doctor to obtain an UNRRA job and confessed to faking identity papers for others before being turned over to Russian liaison officers in Frankfurt.

A London based Yugoslav spokesman predicts Marshal Tito will reject the United States 43 hour ultimatum on the release of interned American airmen. He argues there is no ground for UN Security Council action and cites Yugoslavia’s war losses and desire for peace with honor and dignity.
Washington officials believe Moscow may shape Marshal Tito's choice to free imprisoned American fliers by the deadline or defy the U N ultimatum. They say Soviet influence could determine Tito's path to the Security Council and hint Tito might seek Premier Stajn's counsel.
