Hutchinson House Holds Century of Turnpike History
The Onondaga County landmark on West Seneca Turnpike and Bussey Road traces back to 1803 when James Hutchinson bought 100 acres. The house served as a tavern and stopping point on the turnpike with tales of Lafayette visiting in 1825. The Krells, Syracuse HVAC, are restoring it, revealing its massive oak beams, wide planks, and 14 rooms, while planning additions and a cathedral kitchen.
