Canal Day brings 18th century toys to Towpath crowds
About 300 people enjoyed Towpath Day at Camillus Erie Canal Park with children playing tin-can telephones and pickup sticks while 60 volunteers ran the event. Nearby Ukrainian Festival 2000 highlighted St John the Baptist Church history and food, with dances by grandchildren and the Rev. Rodeghero noting kitchen work fuels the festival. Also at Ste Marie among the Iroquois, Moliere's The School for Husbands closes its run with two weekend performances, praised for humor and suitability for families.

Mitch Frey of Rochester and about 400 participants joined three Oswego events to aid the YMCA. Frey pedaled 28 miles in 1:15 with 22 mph average, finishing 29th of 137 in the Tour De Loop Citizens race. The day featured a 5 K Shoreline Run, a U S Cycling Federation sanctioned race, Kids Challenge, and a wacky bike relay.
