A Utica man, William L. Bronson, 30, remained in stable condition Sunday at Children’s Hospital after a hit-and-run on Route 12 Saturday evening. Police charged Thomas W. Kranz, 18, with leaving the scene and failing to report a serious injury. Kranz, arrested after witnesses identified the driver, was held in jail on $5,000 bail.

Motorist charged with DWI after highway crash
Lawrence J. Jones 42 of Tanner Street, DeKalb Junction, was charged with driving while intoxicated after veering off Edward Herman Road and crashing into tree stumps. He suffered a broken back and was listed in stable condition at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital. The 12:05 a.m. crash occurred on County Route 15 as Jones traveled north.

Dirt bike rider arrested in park in Cortland County
A 17 year old Cortland youth David B. Chamberlain was arrested in Dwyer Park Preble after a dirt bike ride. He faced charges including DWI failure to comply driving while license suspended unregistered vehicle uninspected vehicle and driving without insurance. Deputies said he fled when asked to stop but was captured after losing control and tumbling.
