Controversy Over Games Continues In State Show Debate
The Games controversy centers on Buffalo versus Syracuse for hosting duties and the value of facilities and volunteers. Abernethy supports Syracuse, while Buffalo’s commerce angle is debated. A weightlifter and a water polo player will challenge entry rules, and a Hudson Valley coach’s firing fuels ethical questions about recruitment. In coming weeks Abernethy and regional chairs meet in Saratoga to review events and lessons.
