Engineering firm seeks peace in DeWitt landfill plan
O'Brien and Gere president Jack Loveland to have Southwood homeowners sign contracts with mining firm General Crushed Stone to ease opposition to a DeWitt landfill. Proposals would extend quarry limits and swap land, with fears of retaliation from residents. Onondaga officials acknowledge plans but say zoning boards must approve. Local residents voice concern over safety and displacement.
