Washington today authorized immediate retail price increases on coffee, ranging from 6 to 13 cents a pound. The hike follows the cancellation of a 3 cent import subsidy when price control law lapsed July 1. An earlier 2 cent increase for importers June 28 had not reached retail, and a further 3 cent rise for importers was approved to spur more coffee imports.
