Egyptian born Tarek El Sayed Khater, 19, threatened to blow up an Air France Airbus A300B en route from Paris to Cairo. The plane diverted to Benghazi then Brindisi where ground crews locked him out after he freed 20 hostages. He claimed accomplices and 1000 pounds of dynamite. No injuries reported.
