Van Buren plans to sue to free owns and haulers from county flow restrictions in Onondaga County. The case aims to allow better disposal bids for a nearly complete 178 million trash incinerator. The town challenges a Supreme Court decision limiting mandatory disposal sites.
Democrats still pay for last year’s mayoral bid in Syracuse as Nicoletti’s campaign debt lingers. Nicoletti, a state assemblyman, spent $633,114 and left $36,395 owed while Roy Bernardi spent $209,172 and emerged mayor with $5158 leftover.
The World Health Organization estimates 20 billion condoms will be needed over the next decade to curb AIDS.
