Drought Pushes County To Pause Mosquito Spraying
A mild drought prompts Onondaga County to suspend pesticide spraying as standing water declines mosquito numbers. Cicero Swamp sees a tenfold drop in mosquitoes, with aerial spraying only rarely planned since 1984. Health officials note counts are far below normal across the region.
