Central New York faces humid unsettled weather with a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Lows rise to the upper 60s with highs in the middle to upper 60s through Wednesday and Thursday as humid conditions persist.
Storms sweep the East from Ohio Valley to New England with scattered severe storms in the Dakotas and Midwest. Hurricane Alberto strengthens slowly as models hint at interaction with a trough and possible weakening. Extreme heat prevails in the South and central Texas, with record highs in Needles and Las Vegas and a chilly 35 in Stanley Idaho.
The almanac notes Oneida Onondaga Lakes with southwest winds of 10 to 20 knots and 12 foot waves. Lake Ontario shows southwest to west winds 15 to 25 knots with waves around 5 feet. Finger Lakes winds come from the southwest 10 to 20 knots with 12 foot waves today.
