Nicaragua accuses Honduras of imprisoning 7500 Miskito Indians
Nicaragua's Interior Minister Tomas Borge Martinez called 7500 Miskito Indians in two Honduran camps Nazi style prisoners. Honduran and international observers say Sandinista actions forced Indians from Caribbean coastal villages into inland camps, with rebels forming armed bands in Honduras. Borge admitted some abuse by Nicaraguan cadres and that 320 Miskitos remain imprisoned, with more to be freed. Refugees also report Costa Rica border exits as Nicaragua's army cut off aid channels.
