1953 Charge To Be Aired

Schwenderman, 22, formerly of Guz W Pleasant Ave, faces a 1952 fatality charge after pleading guilty to criminal negligence. He will be sentenced Tuesday in County Court after three years in the Army. The indictment alleges he operated a car recklessly on Oct 18 1952 causing a passenger’s death at Genesee St and Montrose Ave after striking a parked truck and a steel structure.

FBI Holds Detroiter In Syracuse Theft

FBI agents in Detroit arrested Ernest LaTure 42 for unlawful flight related to a third degree burglary in Syracuse. The case involves a $1,400 burglary including a $1,000 diamond ring and two rifles later traced to LaTure. Detective Robert Busch heads to Detroit to return him for prosecution.

Seven year old James Ferens will be examined at Syracuse Psychopathic Hospital after a fatal shotgun incident at his home. The victim, six year old Philip Snyder, and another boy were injured as prosecutors consider delinquency charges for the juvenile shooter. Boy Burned Baby Saved By Sister

A 10 year old boy was burned when a gas can exploded at a family home. His 12 year old sister Joan alerted neighbors and helped three other children evacuate. The 11 month old baby slept nearby and was carried to safety. James received first aid on scene and was taken to St Joseph's Hospital.

Thief Loots Gas Station After Lockup

A burglar hid in a gas station overnight and looted 343.65 from a can under the counter. The gas station, owned by Peter Kitt, was supposedly locked when the owner left. Entry was gained through a lavatory window while Kitt watched the money go into the can.
