In New York city antiwar activist Rev Daniel Berrigan and 13 others were arrested after blocking entry to a Manhattan building they called a military think tank and pouring blood on themselves Police dispersed about 80 protesters who chanted antiwar songs in front of the Riverside Research Institute during the action.
The Alabama Pardon and Parole Board ordered sex slayer Richard Mark Ellard returned from Georgia for a hearing to decide whether to revoke his parole. Gov. Hugh Carey was disqualified as godfather to Tobias Bartosiewicz because his marriage to Evangeline Gouletas lacks Catholic sanction. A UPI report from Santa Barbara states the Shroud of Turin is not a man made forgery. The Shroud Research Project concludes the image is of a real human form formed by a natural chemical process not yet understood.
