New York AP reports a list of selected stock transactions on the American Stock Exchange. The roundup notes trades and prices as reported by the exchange and market watchers.
New York reports mixed stock activity at the open with Ford up to 57, Chrysler at 56, National Steel at 62, Youngstown Sheet 46 74, Olin Mathieson 49 44 and aerospace tickers Douglas Aircraft 40, Boeing 71 34, United Aircraft 76. IBM fell to 47 1/4 while Honeywell rose to 73 4. Pennzoil 54, Diamond Alkali 65 4, Anaconda 65 34, Kennecott 103 4.
The Syracuse AA inter-group holds its monthly meeting at 8 p m Sunday at the 24 hour Club 306 Warren Street Speakers from Rome and Utica are scheduled by the special sessions group which meets Sunday mornings for the inter-group program. Persons interested in learning about alcoholism are welcome.
United Press International reports all major U.S. stock and commodity exchanges will be closed on Good Friday. The Chicago market and New York banks will stay open for business as usual. European and British markets will be closed Friday and Monday for Easter holidays.
