A lingering cold front brings continued rain and snow to the Northeast and mid- Atlantic states with scattered snow showers shifting to rain in northern New York and northern New England. Thunderstorms erupt across the Southeast as the system moves through, tapering off through the afternoon.
Low pressure over central Texas was forecast to move into the Gulf Coast bringing rain and thunderstorms to Louisiana Mississippi Texas Alabama Florida and Georgia. A mix of snow and rain was expected over the Dakotas before moving into Minnesota and Wisconsin. Windy conditions were forecast over the Midwest. Rain possible in northern California and southern Oregon with scattered showers in Washington Idaho and Montana. The West mostly fair to partly cloudy. Highs ranged from 30s to 90s across regions. The growing season to begin in the Northeast with last frost dates varying widely due to urban heat and water bodies.
