Fat Boy Wheeler began using a calorie chart to lose weight and devised a universal chart usable by all workers. The chart is offered free by mailing a stamped self-addressed envelope to the Fat Boy Diet Editor at the Syracuse Herald Journal in Syracuse New York.

Industrialist Henry J. Kaiser plans a quiet family wedding with Alyce Chester, chief nurse and companion to his late wife. Chester, 34, was married in 1939 to Max Penovic and later resumed her maiden name after divorce. Kaiser, 68, has two grown sons and Chester has a six-year-old son.
Frederick J. Martin, Baldwinville, writes of Lt. Richard Glasscock, his platoon leader in Korea, praising his ability to sense danger. He recalls a dangerous slope where Glasscock handed him a grenade, calmed him, and helped blow a bunker. New Yorkers will receive small date tags in 1952 to attach to their license plates as a steel shortage limits the 1952 plate program. Governor Dewey signed bills giving the motor vehicle commissioner authority to decide on reissuing plates or tags next year and requires updated operator licenses to include blood type space. A separate measure would ban parking a vehicle bearing expired or inappropriate plates on public streets.
The four foreign ministers' deputies will finish the fifth week of talks on a program for a prospective chiefs' meeting. Disagreements persist on several key issues, making another week or more of discussions likely.
Fifteen persons arrested on dope peddling charges by federal agents and Baltimore Police Department are held for grand jury action. Bail ranged from 3000 to 7000 dollars. Warrants are out for thirty other narcotics violators.
State Police raided a gambling establishment near Ithaca in the first reported crackdown of a statewide anti-gambling drive. Proprietor Louis H. Theodore J. Giacchi 87 of 4342 Durston Ave was arrested at 223 Beecher St by plainclothes officers on a lottery ticket charge. Police confiscated 1006 tickets. Giacchi pleaded innocent before Judge William H. Barerick and was released on $1000 bail to April 13. Police Chief Kinney said the seizure disrupts a broader lottery operation tied to Italian based networks.
Santa Marta Calif CAP Southwest Airliner carrying 23 persons was missing and officials feared it had crashed into a mountain or the sea while flying through heavy overcast. Air Force Coast Guard and civil air-sea rescue units stood by to search the mountainous area near Riverside and the Gaviota Pass where the plane last stopped.
