Charles Henry Capes of Geelong Road Brooklyn died November 10 at age 3x. Born in Holbeach England he came to Victoria 64 years ago. His wife predeceased him by over 20 years. He was a prominent Methodist Church official at Sunshine. Funeral from Nelson Bros Chapel proceeded to Footscray Cemetery. Rev A H Small officiated at the chapel and graveside.

Keith Robert Black, 21, of 2 Hozentin St Albion, was committed for trial at Sunshine Court on nine charges of breaking and entering and theft. The alleged break ins occurred during October and November at premises including W. Pridham Pty Ltd, Nettlefolds Pty Ltd, Chemhouse Products, Sunshine Golf Club, Roy Grieve's Hirara Saloon, and Crittall Pty Ltd.

The committee at Poltowhie appoints Miss dna Goodin to replace the resigning Matron Nandiovow. Goodin brings broad experience and six years service in the 2/dth AG during the last war.
