Council Rejects Temporary Abattoir Plan in Brooklyn
Health Officer Dr K F Brennan had urged approval for F. Watkins Pty Ltd to run a temporary Brooklyn abattoir. The Brooklyn Council refused despite Health Act compliance and prior department approval. Dr H Skinner warned of possible next steps and vowed to revisit the issue at the following Monday meeting.
