The council projects receipts of £101,762 with £67,813 from rates and £14,238 from public works fees. Expenditures total £56,? including £13,470 administrative costs and £4,177 debt services. Street betting case ends with £100 fine

Police evidence showed Ward caught taking bets outside the Derrimut Hotel on 9 September. He claimed only his fourth attempt and was on bond. The court found uncertain prior offences. a £100 fine with three months default was imposed amid arguments over the offence’s geographical nature.

Youth Won't Work Faces Court For Larceny

A Sunshine youth Arthur George Morrow appeared in Sunshine Court on Tuesday accused of stealing a pair of rowers and a shirt from his brother and of being without sufficient means. The larceny charge was dismissed as evidence suggested he borrowed the clothes. His mother Mrs Jessie Morrow said she could no longer support him. Constable Ivan Johns noted years of complaints about the defendant's job hopping. Morrow admitted not working for about a week and claimed he had sent £2 10s to his mother from his last pay. Judge Morriss sentenced him to one month in prison.

Opening of Albion Hall and Kindergarten Tomorrow Afternoon

Official opening of Albion Progress Hall and Kindergarten occurs tomorrow afternoon Oct. 28. Invitations were issued and the president Mr F Hayden along with the kindergarten committee invite the parents of all children in the kindergarten and play groups and any members of the public who helped establish the centre.

The Sun Youth Travel committee seeks public support for Fly Away Peter to be staged at the Shire Hall Sunshine on Tuesday by the Williamstown High School Boys Dramatic Group. Producer-director Mr T Walsh promises a good night, with past Eastern States tours noted. Total acknowledged funds amount to £106 1s 6d.

Seventeen Year Old Steals From Sunshine Shop

A 17 year old youth, Noel Robinson of 13 Baker Street, Sun sine, was charged at Sunshine Court with stealing £13 from the till at Johnson's shop 104 Monash Street. The court heard £123 was in the till at 8 am on Sept 18. at 10:30 am the money was gone. Robinson admitted taking £9 and said he gave some money to his mother to pay his board. He was sentenced to one month, suspended on a £10 bond for two years of good behaviour.
