A well attended Braybrook meeting led to the formation of Cross Emergency Service in Sunshine. Elected were Mrs Par and Mrs E Pritchard as executives with Mrs Stuart Me as superintendent. Red Cross speaker urged community preparedness and training in First Aid and Home Nursing with classes planned in Sunshine.

Sunshine Court Senses Undersized Fish And Illicit Sales
Joe Schiberass a Southern European faced Sunshine Court for possessing undersized schnapper and selling fish without a licence. Inspector Groom testified observing him on April 3 in Graham Street Sunrise buying a four schnapper after noting 13 fish 7 to 84 inches long. He admitted residence at Altona and selling to fund spending. Police Magistrate fined £2 on each charge.

Load Too Heavy For Bridge At Sunshine Court
H G Reilly of 69 Scott Street Moonee Ponds faced Inspector Thorpe in Braybrook Shire court for carting a load over Cordite Bridge Maribyrnong that exceeded five tons. Evidence showed over the bridge with screenings after a quarry run. Reilly fined £5 with £2 4s 6d costs. Caulfield man T L Judd fined 20s with £1 3s 6d costs for tare not painted on his truck.

Charitable Miss Amina Dudley Dies After Short Illness
Miss Amina Dudley of Watt Street Sunshine died in a private Brigh ton hospital after a few days illness. She taught at Hawksburn and Kerang before 84 years of residence with sister Mrs W J Andrew. A community figure, she supported education, Baby Health Centre, St James and St John, Neglected Children, Red Cross in Sunshine, and St Mark's Church. Her funeral was private at Spring Vale Crematorium conducted by Rev A E Winter.
