St Mark's Harriers opened the season with a pack run and a 1000 yards breakaway. Twelve runners represented the club with M Petherill finishing fourth. A 7 junior team could form and gain experience for future races. Next Saturday a combined run with Footsersy at Sun Shine offers a one mile race for St Mark's runners only with aggregate points.
The final of the Men's Doubles Handicap ended 4/6 6/4 6/4 with Jock and Neil Miller defeating Tom Daish and Martin Cullen after early 3/0 and 4/1 leads. Illness forced the Mixed Doubles Handicap final to be unplayed. Winners list includes L Martin, Mrs Johnstone, N & J Miller, J Miller and P Shimmin, T Daish, Monica Cullen, and C Fry with Doubleday.
The Braybrook Motorcycle Club asks members planning the Yarram run to pay a 10 shilling deposit by the next meeting. Tickets for the May 17 Roxy Theatre picture night are available via Wild Bill Eulenstein. Two Banger Shanks is Vice-President and Tiger Turner becomes club vice-captain with Frugal Affleck as assistant press correspondent. The run leaves Shine car park at 9 am next Sunday for acceleration tests. The club thanks Ernie Woolf and his wife for an enjoyable evening with soft drinks.
