Braybrook Shire Council Adopts Uniform Building Regulations

Braybrook Council on Monday decided to adopt the Uniform Building Regulations aligning the Shire with other municipalities. The council also urged the Medical Officer Dr J L Brennan to proceed with a campaign for immunisation against diphtheria and whooping cough.

Collection of Waste for Sunshine Hospital Drive

The Loan Redemption Committee of Sunshine Community Hospital will run a bottle and non ferrous metal collection on Saturday 27 May. Rutepayers are urged to save empty bottles and old metal to help reduce the local hospital debt. Sunshine Boy Scouts will assist as collectors. Beachley Pennell and Boyd and the Shire Council provide trucks. Please have items ready by 8 20 a.m.

Auction Auctionee: Six room villa and factory fetch £7000

A six room villa and galvanised iron factory covering 2 000 sq ft on Wright Street Sunshine sold for £7000 at auction yesterday. Machinery in the factory cost £500. The buildings sit on one acre fronting three streets. The sale was on behalf of an English firm intending operations here.

School Playing Ground Saved by Railways Land Deal

Foundations for five houses had begun before the school committee learned land was reserved. Efforts by Dr A B MUA to reuse the dam for school grounds failed. the Railways Department retains the property until the education department can purchase, due to Railways Act constraints. Ratepayers Demand Council Action Over Maribyrnong Neglect

A petition from Maribyrnong residents, presented at the Braybrook Shire Council meeting, calls for immediate relief from filthy gutters poor roads and lack of footpaths.
