Fire at Our Lady's Church in Victoria street Sunshine at 10.16 am gutted the wooden structure leaving only the shell. Firefighters from Sunshine and Foote Cray brigades fought the blaze with help from painters and workers. insured but loss exceeds policy.

Licensing fines at Sunshine court for hotel incident

Arthur Simpson and Wallace O'Boyle of Maribyrnong were each fined £2 for giving false names to Constable Power at 9 15 p m on February 9 at the Deer Park hotel. Harold Tennant fined 15 for being on licensed premises. Wallace Rooke’s charge dismissed. Licencee William J Hutton fined £2 for allowing persons on premises during prohibited hours. He claimed the men came for a bed.

Girls' charity night supports Girl Guides home

A February 21 benefit at Theatrette De Luxe Sunshine raised £116 for the Girl Guides Home at Brittania Creek. Lorraine Norma and Benny Gunn of the Bobby Bear Club organized the event, with a second March 2 program at the same address aiding BushFire Relief Fund.
