The Tecoma group hosted a large turnout for the last monthly meeting with Mr Dave Chandler as lecturer. The Autumn Show will be on Saturday March 19 at Shire Hall. exhibitors should contact Secretary H Gray for a schedule.
The Sunshine Old Boys Association reports the annual picnic abandoned due to bad weather with financial loss but plans for a new date. Cricketers reach the final four and anticipate a strong semi final against Harvester next Saturday. The next general meeting is scheduled for Friday March 11.
The Sunshine United Soccer Club held its annual meeting praising the 1948 season and a sound £90 plus balance sheet from a £342 turnover. New President is S Mollison with officers including A D Fletcher as Secretary and B Doherty as Treasurer. Training starts at Albion ground with friendly notices for social and general meetings in March.
The Western Suburbs Soccer Club held its annual meeting at Shire Hall Sun shine on Wednesday February 24. Newcomers were welcomed by chairman Mr Davies as the club posted a healthy balance sheet and elected office bearers. A friendly match is set for Sunday at Wright St ground against 8 8 Prince Albert Park with junior and youth trials announced. The season opens April 16 and social events are scheduled for March 19 at St Mark's Hall and a Frankston picnic on April 3 with tickets via Social Secretary B Denison.
