Maribyrnong Reserve dog coursing debate rages on
A letter to the editor outlines council disagreements over dog coursing on Maribyrnong Reserve. The writer, B Randall, argues the reserve should generate revenue for ratepayers and criticizes the council’s refusal, noting the grounds cost about £4000 and questioning lack of use. He supports allowing owners and trainers to operate for income, with benefits for local roads and amusements and urges clear council rules for the committee’s activities.

Anglers Prepare For Coming Season In Metro Club
The Sunshine Anglers Club held its annual meeting with about 80 members. Leadership changes saw W R McKay absent as president, with B Craddock chairing. The year showed higher receipts and trophies but fewer members and weather-affected competitions. Sixteen new members joined, and 1370 fish were landed across 36 contests. Officers elected included W BR McKay as president and G KR Crick as secretary, with plans to build the club’s own hall and retire debt. A trophy prize fund and aggregate competition were announced.
