W McKissock, provisional secretary of the Maribyrnong I.C., defends ganger dismissal as unjust and describes a rain delay at Hampstead Road works. Workers held a stop-work meeting and sought council action, but the ganger was not aided despite support from the engineer.
The Sunshine Advocate records the sudden death of George Kerr McWhirter during a Technical School Council meeting. A beloved, long-serving church elder and door keeper, he inspired youth and stood for Scottish Presbyterian values at the Sunshine Presbyterian Church for 22 years. His passing leaves a wide community gap.
Great expectations rise as Miss Ivy Keates and her gifted pupils visit the Presbyterian School Hall on Thursday evening August 8. Mothers and all who love bright little performances are invited to attend this unique entertainment. The children will be assisted by their instructress and several adult artists.
