Obituary of John Davey with long local past and lodge ties
The late Mr. John Davey died at his son's home in Sunshine aged eighty. He was born near Toentone HOUL, Tenidin, where his father owned the first Crushing machine in that city. He was active in Temperance Fire demonstrations and won trophies. He led a long tenure with chairs at South St. Competitions Thallarat. He leaves a son and no wife and belonged to the Crook Miners' Pride Lodge, Mull O.F. for fifty years. The funeral proceeded to the Melbourne Cemetery on Thursday.
