Sunshine Golf Club Faces Heavy Costs Over Glen Gala Road Plan

Sunshine Golf Club told Braybrook Council Public Works Committee of its burden from the Glen Gala Road scheme. Club officials led by Secretary F Willaton and Treasurer H Morris warned that full road charges could force the club to abandon its land purchase and long term beautification aims. A compromise for a half road was discussed, but the council voted to proceed to auction and refer the matter to a magistrate for decision.

Soldiers and Council to Meet in Conference on Hall Vacating

Raybrook Shire Council and Sunshine R.S.5.A.L.A. will hold a conference to discuss vacating the Shire Hall after a report on funds for the Soldiers Memorial in the hall. The 1921 subscription raised 2624/15/10 and the council had borrowed £3750 for the hall plus £5000 for completion. Dr Barclay opposed entering patronage terms for vacating the hall.

Obituary for Thomas Charles Frith of Sunshine

The death of Mr. Thomas Charles Frith of Hamel Street Sunshine occurred at Heidelberg Military Hospital on Friday aged 61. He served in World War I and was active with the St John Ambulance Brigade Sunshine and Footscray divisions. He worked at H V McKay Massey Harris and had been ill for two months. He leaves his wife and daughter Mrs Perry and daughter Mrs McKenner is deceased. The service was held at Nelson Bros Chapel and Fawkner Crematorium with a Guard of Honour by St John Ambulance. Followed by funeral arrangements for the other obituary Mrs SV Chervis of Fraser Street Sunshine aged 61.
