Sunshine Football Club Annual Meeting Yields New Officers

The Sunshine Football Club held its annual meeting at Wal on Waynestay, electing a new committee and filling the treasurer position. New committee members include Messiah, Caithness, J. McCrae, A. Stavely, Gen. North and J. Warhurst, while Clarke Freyer became treasurer and Dave Stark was named assistant secretary.

False Alarm At Sunshine Harvester Works Brief Fire

A fire alarm at the Sunshine Harvester Works sounded shortly after 3 pm drawing hundreds outside. The blaze was minor with flames affecting the heat treating department roof and firefighters limited by a short hose preventing full reach to the flames.

At the Sunshine court Elizabeth Jane Thomas, 34, of Coolamon Street Sunshine, testified Edna Dickson, 17, of 56 Sydney Street Sunshine, assaulted her on February 1 in Sydney and Hamel Streets. Dickson denied the claims, saying Thomas was aggressor. Bench found Dickson aggressor. adjourned case for six months on costs of £3 5s 6d.

Indecent language incident leads to fine in Sunshine court

Constable responded to an invitation case at Sunshine court. Edward McCarthy, seated on a bus near the railway station at 5 55 p m on Saturday January 29, was heard using indecent language. He explained another man at a hotel assaulted him and he invited the man to come over on the green to fight. A fine of 20 shillings was imposed with 48 hours imprisonment default.
