Natalie Spaeth a competitive dancer from San Clemente rose to second at USA Nationals in jazz solo while her parents Tim and Andrea Spaeth watched. A tick bite at age 10 went unnoticed and years later she recalls not feeling the bite as it latched on during a hillside hike near home.

San Juan Capistrano Council rejects evacuation video plan
Council member Pam Patterson urged creating a residents guidance video about what to do if San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station releases radiation. District Hopes to Capture Rainwater in Two Creeks
Santa Margarita Water District aims to capture storm runoff in two south coast creeks through the San Juan Watershed project. The plan envisions up to 2.8 billion gallons added to the South County supply enough for about 25,000 homes for a year. An environmental report will be presented at a public meeting Tuesday. Pending board approval this spring, inflatable rubber dams and related infrastructure would be built at the San Juan Capistrano junction of San Juan Creek and its tributaries.
