Ex-convict and teen in cross-country crime spree face multi-state prosecution
Federal charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution were dropped against Lewis E. Gilbert and Eric A. Elliott. Both 22 and 16, from Newcomerstown, Ohio, are now charged with first-degree murder in Oklahoma after police say they admitted shooting a person. They were jailed in New Mexico after troopers tracked them to a dusty highway culvert.
