Hospital drops suit against whistle blower overpayments
Winston-Salem hospital North Carolina Baptist Hospital voluntarily dismissed its lawsuit against Joseph Vincoli of Clemmons, a former managed-care director who helped reveal that the State Health Plan overpaid the facility. The hospital said dismissal was best for all, Vincoli declined to comment, and he was fired in 2007. The plan covers over 663,000 teachers and state workers with taxpayer funds and premiums.

National Guard unit to deploy to Kuwait ceremony in Greensboro
More than 300 soldiers of the 113th Sustainment Brigade will participate in a Greensboro ceremony at the Koury Convention Center before deploying to Kuwait. Coast Guard rescues five from sinking vessel near Bermuda
