Carteret schools superintendent to retire after 40 years
Carteret County Public Schools will bid farewell to Superintendent Mat Bottoms who will retire effective December 31 after a nearly 40 year career in Carteret education. Bottoms announced the retirement at a principals meeting and will host a public drop‑in reception December 10 at the central office in Beaufort.
