Tidal flooding forces early close of Battleship North Carolina
Wilmington officials warn visitors to check the ships site as high tides and rising seas extend through next week. The moored battleship faced earlier closures after a $2 million flood protection plan and a $400,000 grant in September from the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund. The vessel sits opposite downtown along the Cape Fear River.
