New Bern Woman Writes and Directs Her Own Movie
D Aja Fulmore, a New Bern resident and Jones County native, financed and directed a 20 minute short titled Crossover filmed in New Bern. The project is the first episode of a proposed series she has written and would have developed for a major studio. She declined a development and production deal offering ten episodes from a subsidiary of AMC claiming it required surrender of creative rights.

Commissioner Johnnie Sampson II laid to rest in public service
Craven County official Johnnie Sampson II was laid to rest at a public funeral held Friday in the Riverfront Convention Center at 203 South Front Street. About 250 attendees waited outside as temperatures were checked and masks issued before entering the spaced seating arrangement inside the center.
