Four parole officers to be housed in Pamlico County
Pamlico County will host four new parole and probation officers. Judicial district manager Gary T. Mann said two will work in an intensive parole program with late hours and frequent unannounced visits, with space to be provided by the state. The other two need county office space, not available at the courthouse, so the county will join the state in a search for nearby space to house all four together. One officer is already in place in the county clerks office, with the rest to start soon. Craven County previously oversaw parole in the county, which currently has about 200 on probation and 40 on parole.

Harrington had sought 4060.00 claiming five years were valid. He argued County Attorney Jim Sugg erred and criticized the commissioners. Attempts to reach Harrington were not successful.
