Miami Grinds Out Big East Victory Over Syracuse
Fifth ranked Miami used a grind it out offense and stiff defense to beat No. 10 Syracuse 27-6 in Syracuse. James Stewart scored twice, Frank Costa connected with Paul Green for a 12 yard TD, and Derral Harris added a 1 yard score as Miami claimed sole possession of first in the Big East. The Hurricanes rushed for 172 yards in the second half and shut down Syracuse’s high powered attack, improving to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the league.
