Greensboro Man Charged in Woman's August Death

William Frank Baker Jr., 21, of 2711 Yanceyville Street, was charged with death by vehicle in connection with an August crash that killed Shauna Weatherly Cooper, 45, of 106 Vida Lane near Vanceboro. He posted a $3,000 unsecured bond and faces Craven County District Court on November 29.

Aldermen call special meet to resolve ward boundaries

New Bern man charged in false sales of business

Daniel Keith Martin is charged with obtaining property by false pretenses after selling a New Bern window blinds business he did not own. He allegedly collected about 25 000 of a 65 000 planned sale while claiming ownership via a handwritten, unnotarized letter from Betty Hannon. Frances received the notice and reported the matter to the Craven County Sheriff's Office. The case involves Sunbelt Business Brokers and unresolved ownership between Hannon and Martin.
