Environmental audit bill may die in state Senate
State Rep. John Nichols says a Senate committee may still hear his audit bill though the action deadline passed. The Judiciary Committee met without taking up the measure that would allow companies to run confidential environmental audits while still reporting violations to the government to gain immunity from penalties. If not heard, the bill would await the next legislative session.
