CRC to compromise on free standing moorings plan
Coastal Resources Commission favors a compromise on mooring rules by creating designated mooring fields for boaters while considering a permit system. The panel backed a public hearing on restricting free standing moorings to waterfront property owners, who would pay a $50 permit and face a four mooring limit. Landlocked boaters oppose, waterfront communities see benefits, second hearing pending. Deliberations set for September 29-30 in Wilmington.
