White is the color of summer fashion and style
White dominates summer wardrobes with shirts, skirts, dresses and accessories. Designers like Adrienne Vittadini and Tom Platt tout white’s texture, brightness and clean slate appeal while noting ways to accessorize with silver, linen and sheer accents. Experts warn pure white stands out and should be worn with confidence.

Environment shapes risk of birth defects in newborns
A Norway based study suggests environment plays a strong role in birth defects. Women who had a affected first child and then moved to a different town showed half the risk of a second affected child. Researchers caution that the exact agents remain unidentified. The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, analyzed records from 371,933 women.

Study Links Birth Defects to Recurrence Risk in Second Child
A study of over 370000 mothers finds environmental factors influence birth defects and recurrence risk. Women with a first defective baby face heightened chances of a second, especially if they stay in the same town. Moving reduces risk but remains above baseline. Cleft lip, limb, club foot and genital defects show strong multipliers. Overall first babies had 2.5 percent defects. risk assessed against those with normal first babies.
