Minnie Moore Ingram of 601 Old Kinston Trenton Road died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at Vine Swamp Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Kinston with Rev. A L Matthews officiating. Burial in Trenton Dome. She left a widower, Jeffrey Ingram, seven sons and seven daughters, two brothers, two sisters, 38 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends at the home. Arrangements Mills Funeral Home in Kinston.
A slowly moving cold front drifts across northern Florida on Saturday bringing more rain to the Carolinas and Gulf Coast. A weak low pressure system spawns scattered snow showers in the far northern Dakotas and Minnesota, with more rain onshore in the Pacific Northwest as high pressure dominates the rest of the nation with mild temperatures.
Floyd Leonard McLaughlin 66 of Havelock will receive full military honors at Memorial Chapel MCAS Cherry Point Monday at 11:00 a.m. Father Hendricks will officiate. Survived by daughters Maria of Greenville and Pearl of Apex, three brothers Jim and Dave of Spokane and Edward of Oak Harbor, one sister Pat Lemon of Spokane, and three grandchildren Michael Nicholas Chelsea. Inez Elizabeth Fisher Martin, 74, of 1804 Country Club Road, Pem broke community, died Tuesday at Craven Regional Medical Center. Funeral at St John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev John Pierce officiating. Burial in Greenwood. Survived by three sons William Perk Martin Robert Martin of New Bern Isaac Martin of Sylvan ia Ga. two daughters Elsie Staten of New Bern Fannie Williams of the home. 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. George Wesley Godette Sr., 77, of Guardian Care of New Bern and formerly of Havelock, died Tuesday. Graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday at Piney Grove AME Zion Church cemetery in Havelock. Survived by son George W. Godette Jr. of New Bern, daughter Lonnie McClease of Columbia, Ga., and several grandchildren. Condolences to Clifton Sparrow family. Arrangements by Oscar's Mortuary.
Jane Smith Wilson 69 of Wilmington died at Pollock Wells and Best Funeral Home in New Bern with Rev Walter Gaskins Jr officiating. Burial is set for Cedar Grove Extension Cemetery in New Bern. Charlotte police say a Mecklenburg officer under embezzlement inquiry was found dead in his truck from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. A warrant had been issued for Richard Bernstein as detectives sought him last night. Bernstein was found in his vehicle at Reedy Creek School around 9 50 p.m. and accused of stealing 30000 dollars intended for drug informants.
