Isaias hits tobacco crops in Craven County most
Craven County agriculture officials report Hurricane Isaias caused about 5.6 million dollars in total crop losses, with tobacco taking the largest hit at roughly 3.4 million. Corn was near 1 million, while soybeans and cotton suffered slightly less. Extension agent Mike Carroll cautions the final figures will be higher as reports continue.
