Malcolm Reid Chitty D D died Saturday August 22 2020 in New Bern NC after a long career as an optometrist. Born October 5 1934 in Murfreesboro NC he served in the US Air Force 1958 1961 and built a large NC practice with wife Naomi Jane Bailey Chitty. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church New Bern and supported civic groups. Funeral 11 a.m. August 29 2020 at Greenleaf Memorial Park with livestream on Cotten Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial at Celestial Memorial Gardens Vanceboro NC. Survived by husband Samuel H Boyd two children Susan Pitts and Danny Boyd two grandchildren Stacy Bullock and Russell Boyd four great grandsons and a great nephew. She was known as Mama Nette and active in Bridgeton Pentecostal Holiness Church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Bridgeton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
