Court to hear racial justice arguments in NC cases
North Carolina Supreme Court will hear arguments from four death row inmates seeking resentencing under the repealed Racial Justice Act, and from two others whose claims weren’t decided before repeal. Attorneys cite evidence of racial bias in juror strikes and seek life or new trials, while the state argues the mechanism was removed but other avenues remain.
